“Is Ms. Mel doing the storytime today?” Tanner asked as they all climbed into the car, Frank checking over their car seat straps. “Ms. Mel?” Frank repeated, not able to recall the name at all. “Yeah,” Tanner said. “She’s the lib- librabree-” “The librarian?” Frank offered. “Yeah,” Tanner nodded eagerly. “That word.” “Well, maybe,” Frank said. He didn’t want to give any definitive answer and it turned out to be wrong, so not knowing would have to work for now. “We’ll see when we get there.” Tanner hummed and nodded, seeming pleased with that answer for the time being. “I hope she does it. She’s very nice, and is good at the voices.” Mel is a librarian. Frank meets her as he’s taking his kids to a storytime there.
