Fics like it's hard to deny (when the sun finally shines on the city)

“So. The plan,” Ilya says eventually. “What should we do? Should you request a trade to Ottawa?” Shane pulls himself back, just enough so he can meet Ilya’s eyes. He had considered that, on the car ride over. Considered waiving his No-Movement Clause for the Centaurs. But then, he began to consider waiving it for a different team in a different city. A city that already has a house for them to share. Ottawa made sense before, when it seemed like the only option for the two of them to be closer together. But now? “I could,” Shane says. “Or, I could request a trade to Boston.” Or: it’s the Spring of 2018. A locker room incident disguised as a prank outs Shane, and his teammates discover his relationship with a rival NHL player— a player that Shane refuses to disclose the identity of. In the following months, it becomes obvious that Montreal can no longer be a home for Shane. Boston, however, just might be. (Can be read as a standalone)
