Getting a call from Jude post-match isn't unusual; it just tends to come later in the night after Jude has already vented to her. He’d call Erling up, mouth loose from drink, and complain not only about the game but also about how she just didn’t get it. Erling keeps talking when Jude shows no signs of speaking up for himself. “She didn't go with you and Jobe to that event,” he points out. Jude remains silent. Erling pulls out his phone to check if the line disconnected after all, but the call timer is still ticking up. It’s more of an answer than Erling needed. “I'm sorry, Jude,” he murmurs. Jude huffs, vindictive and tired. “No, you're fucking not.” Erling could protest, could fight to prove his innocence, but he’s tired too, and it would ultimately be a lie. “You’re right.” He agrees. Or; Jude calls Erling after the Madrid derby and they cross paths one last time before the international break.
