Fics like nasty dogs
There was an almost simplistic, dichotomous way Jeno perceived the world he operates in. Black and white; perpetrator and victim; predator and prey; animal and man. It was intuitive, an unconscious and natural tendency to distinguish living creatures among each other in a distinct binary. But that inclination was so unmistakably human, and so, unmistakably flawed. Since he's stepped foot into the shelter, surrounded by cages of abandoned hybrids—half man, half animal, but completely something else—the world hadn't looked the same ever since. Most of them were categorized as rabid, undomesticated, but the scars and burn marks that littered across their frail bodies proved beyond that—part the perpetrator, part survivor. Jeno adopts two hybrids, and learns just how quick can the lines between the two start to blur.
