Fics like where many paths and errands meet

In a hole in the ground, there lived a Verstave... This one-shot prequel is set pre-Hobbit Adventure and alternates between 'Then' (when dwarf Verso and hobbit Gustave first meet) and 'Now' (when Verso returns to la Comté/The Shire and has some explaining to do...). I might revisit this some day and continue on to the actual 'reclaim the mountain!' adventure, but this is just a little fusion with some of my favorite Bagginshield tropes. The Hobbit and Verstave fusion! This is so very niche, but I hope you enjoy it!
