Fics like Sinners

“Penance is not correcting bad behaviour. Penance is a payment. A weight to counter the bad thing you did. Do you understand? You do not rush to fix your wrongdoing. First you must admit your guilt. And then you must pay the price. Only then does forgiveness come.” “I understand,” Jeongguk whispered. “First I must admit my guilt.” Seokjin touched Jeongguk’s chin and turned his head until their eyes met. “Tell me,” Seokjin murmured. Jeongguk’s throat was painfully dry. His eyes ran all over the High Priest’s face. Dark, stern eyes on a soft, innocently formed face. Beautifully shaped lips that Jeongguk did not dare to linger on for too long. Hair pushed off his forehead. A round, prominent Adam's apple. The High Priest was the most beautiful man Jeongguk had ever laid his eyes on. “I failed to do my duty to my husband.” Seokjin’s thumb stroked his chin. “Is that all?” Jeongguk wracked his brain, feeling panicked. “I failed to do my duty towards my… husband’s family.” “Yes, you did,” Seokjin said. “You disappointed me.”
