Fics like Coincidence

Coincidence picks up after Almost Love, when Maya and Josh have finally found their way back to each other after nine years — only to realize that wanting something and actually knowing how to keep it are two very different things. With Josh buried in residency and Maya’s career taking off, what was supposed to be their “right now” starts stretching thin. Then Lucas Friar walks back into Maya’s life by complete coincidence, and suddenly everything gets a lot more complicated. Old friendships rebuild. Old feelings resurface. New ones arrive when Maya least expects them. And somewhere between missed dates, subway reunions, terrible dinners, New Year’s kisses, heartbreak, Iceland, and one very persistent Huckleberry, Maya has to figure out what it actually means to choose someone — and what it feels like to finally be chosen back. Because Almost Love was about finally getting the chance. Coincidence is about what happens after.
