Fics like He won’t let you go.

Ethan (Verity) is an ordinary Minecraft player who downloads a strange mod. Instead of the usual features, he gets Mob, a gray block with green eyes that knows his name and can give him anything he asks for. Created 81 years ago, Mob has long since lost his ability to trust humans. But Ethan turns out to be different. When exhaustion causes Ethan to disappear, Mob feels betrayed and warns him that something will happen in three days. Frightened, Ethan calls Creator for help, unaware that Mob has already begun to change.
