Fics like Wild Bird

Bulma is a vagabond in the galaxy like the rest of humanity, with a quest to restore Earth and make it safe from the terrifying power of the Colds. Vegeta is a soldier who has never taken a bribe and thinks himself above anything as weak as lust - until he meets Bulma in a filthy prison and learns for the first time what it means to want. He believes they're mated under Saiyan law and that fate has put her in his path. She believes seducing him was just a convenient way to get out of prison and make yet another man obsessed with with her. Either way, things are put in motion that no power in the galaxy can stop, and love doesn't come easy when you're running for your life and bargaining every day for the continued existence of your race. A literal space opera inspired by the works of Georges Bizet and Adolphe Adam, this fic is a love letter to the great European opera and ballet traditions of the 19th Century. Expect drama, betrayal, and death; this one's not over until Fortuneteller Baba sings. Updates on Fridays.
