Fics like Hold On (Now I understand why she wanted to destroy everything)

After sixteen years of living under her mother’s iron fist, Red had seen many things, and experienced even more. And after everything...the torture, the psychological abuse, the dungeons, the starvation, and the rolling heads. Red knew she was strong. After all, she had survived. That was who she was: a surviving rebel, saved by a princess and a pocket watch. And when she thought everything would be okay, Maddox happened, but she survived. She survived that too. Everything was okay now. She was in Auradon, she had her mother, her sister, Chloe, Luis, and somehow even Max. She wasn’t alone. Whatever happened to her, Red knew she would handle it. She knew she would survive. After all, her body and mind had already been broken hundreds of times. She was ready for anything. That was what Red thought, until that moment. Until the moment she walked through that door. Until the moment her world start to disappear before her eyes once again. And even after everything, nothing could have prepared her for that moment. The moment when Red’s heart broke in an entirely new way.
