Fics like My Itsy Bitsy Spider

“He lost everything—” “She had nothing—” “—And even then, he promised me himself.” “—And at that moment, all I could offer her was myself." “I don’t deserve him.” “She deserves more than me.” “He’s everyone's favorite hero—” “I’m literally a guy wearing spandex—” “And I’m just a mutant girl." “And she’s the Phoenix.” “I want to give him the world.” “She deserves the world and then more.” *** Peter has a low opinion of himself (shocking) and thinks he doesn't deserve to be jealous. I mean... Jean Gray is powerful and pretty, so it's only natural that everyone is crushing on her. And Jean... Poor Jean... Jean Grey is putting her life on the line fighting off everyone trying to grab her spider. *** This is about a boy and a girl. They're going to be okay. They’ll live a beautiful life together. They’ll get to know beautiful people. They’ll create many beautiful things, do beautiful things, and be surrounded by love. They’ll love…It just takes a lot of mistakes and heartache to get there. (They’ll get there. I promise.)
