Fics like i was never really good with endings (so i’ll write you a new beginning)

Fireworks howl outside, drowning out every other sound, sending him sprawling into a vacuum, leaving him breathless. The recording is paused to the last line, just before it stops. Drops of water have caught on the desk, and something akin to a scream or a sob is catching in Avery’s throat. Derek was wrong. Avery is the one who’s not good with endings. — OR After Derek/D3rlord3 merges with the King, Avery is swimming in sorrow, and to make things worse, he can’t even explain why to anyone. He’s almost catatonic with grief over the death of someone he’s never met in real life— a guy who he’s ran around a Minecraft world searching for. Then, teetering on the edge of despair, he realizes something. If he doesn’t like the ending, what’s stopping him from rewriting it?
