Fics like Secrets of Nanda Parbat

There were limits to acting as Renegade. Limits that Slade agreed to. Nothing that actively defied the Justice League or the Titans, no kill contracts on innocents or put them at unnecessary risk. If Slade took those by himself, Dick wouldn’t lose any more sleep over it than he normally would. Deathstroke would not stop for his benefit, but he wouldn’t force Renegade into aiding missions that would only deteriorate their already fragile trust. Renegade was not his apprentice anymore, but a contracted partner. This particular contract in Nanda Parbat though, it rubbed Dick the wrong way. Normally he’d have told Slade he’d rather jump off the highest peak of the Hindu Kush range without any of his equipment than dealing with the al Ghuls. But they had just found a dead clone of Slade’s at a CADMUS facility and the data they retrieved showed that his biological DNA had been donated by the al Ghuls. Slade wanted a way to find out if there were more and how they kept acquiring the DNA. If not CADMUS project itself, then from the al Ghuls because there was no way they were not using that DNA for their own benefit either.
