Fics like scared

(16. Scared, 1,223 words) -- There are so many things about being a father that Shane loves and most of it has everything to do with discovering who Rowan will be as he grows up. Even at two, Shane’s learned so much about him—there’s a reason that Ilya calls him malen'kiy zhuchok, or little beetle, and it’s because he loves exploring outside. Much as when Shane was a kid, Rowan likes to get himself down in the dirt, lift rocks, discover things, and learn everything that he can by experiencing the world around him. He asks question after question and runs towards things with open arms (Shane means this quite literally; the moment Rowan was mobile and comfortable on his legs he was running after everything. He’d give him and Ilya heart attacks in the park and grocery stores pretty consistently).
