Fics like was I drunk enough to say it wasn't really me

The last day of the first week of the last year of Hogwarts. Fuck. It was a mouthful. An earful. Too much to process in one person’s brain: that after 6 years of making a home out of the drafty, ancient castle, things were about to be over after what felt like no time at all. Dorcas didn't know what to do with the information. It was the only information that she didn’t have the foggiest idea how to deal with. Endless lists of dates and spells and ingredients were easy: they sat compartmentalised in her brain, ready for the next class or exam. But the knowledge that soon, grades and homework and revision weren’t going to be the scale she could measure her happiness against was like watching from outside of her own body as she screamed and screamed, tracking each incremental bound of an avalanche coming down a mountain. Devoting your mind to understanding the intricacies of the universe was great for school but Dorcas knew that she lacked the truly key knowledge: who she really was. Or... In the last year of Hogwarts, Dorcas considers her own knowledge of herself and how Marlene fits into that as their relationship changes.
