Fics like Just a Trick of the Light

“We get it Rob. We’re fucking around during training. But we’re not robots, we can’t just-” Kon’s hand jerks, like he means to gesture towards Tim and thinks better of it. Doesn’t want to be that cruel. To say that they’re not like Tim, not boring and serious and tryhard. Tim can see the wince that tightens around Conner’s eyes, but he continues. “It’s good for us to have fun sometimes, together. For morale.” It’s a lame ending, and then silence falls over them. The three of them wait for Tim’s response. Even the drones have shut up, their thirty second timer reached. They zoom over to the back of the room, resetting for the next attempt. *** OR: Tim is in love with Conner, but mostly he's just happy to have him at his side again. It's more than enough for Tim just to lean on his best friend, really. Until he can't anymore.
