Fics like The Knapford Junction Incident

EDWARD: There was an accident at Knapford this morning. BoCo's gaze sharpens. BOCO: Anyone hurt? EDWARD: No. That's the important bit. Some bent fittings, a milk tanker, paint where paint ought not to be—and a great many opinions about how it happened. BOCO: There it is. The part where "no one was hurt" turns out to be the only sentence in the entire report anyone can agree on. EDWARD (grinning): The Fat Controller wants everyone's account while it's still fresh. I told him you were good at sorting sense from noise. Or: When the North Western Railway’s busiest junction has a pile-up, it’s up to BoCo, the railway’s long-suffering, quietly competent diesel, to get to the bottom of everyone's testimonies. But everyone has a different version of what happened at Knapford Junction. What follows is a cascading series of conflicting testimonies, emotional monologues and other nonsense. Still, BoCo can't help but wonder *why* Edward dragged him into this mess. Perhaps he'll find out if anyone manages to figure out what actually happened.
