Fics like a devil walks into a bar (and sits at my piano)

When the lights returned to normal, Alastor studied that girl’s face, drinking in how beautiful but also unfamiliar it was. He’d never seen this girl before. That was quite odd, because Alastor had memorized the faces of nearly everyone in this town. He was extremely observant, as many people had told him, and he picked up on a lot of little things that most others wouldn’t. How had he never seen this girl before? The only explanation had to be that she was brand-new in town. The girl walked through the crowd, keeping her hands closed into fists and her shoulders hunched up like she was protecting herself. She seemed a bit nervous, which was another telltale sign she was new in this area. She stood in front of a mirror hanging on the wall and— Wait. Alastor played the wrong note by accident but didn’t even cringe at his own mistake. His eyes were fixated on that mirror, on that girl’s reflection, because….. he could’ve sworn he saw horns sprouting from her head. Crimson horns. They were clear as day.
