Fics like firewood

Maybe he would've picked a different world if he'd known beforehand… though all the signs had been there, hadn't they? Yagami Light, a miserable limpet of a stranger stuffed into the same body as his dead human, staring down a man pressing a knife to his cheek. Ryuk — perched on a telephone pole, always the watcher — had taken it as the shadow of a flicker of an ember of that wild ambition in the original Light: the real Light. Maybe Ryuk could extract him again, fish his favorite mass murderer out of all the ink Ryuk drowned him in. Maybe. (What if TV drama Ryuk remembered being manga Ryuk — for Talons in His Mouth Tuesdays, Week 3: memories/possessed.)
