Fics like The Glory Games

In District 12, singing is illegal. Only the Covey musicians, famed for their looks, violence and musical abilities are allowed to enjoy the spoils of the arts. In exchange, the Covey volunteered for the Glory Games and because of them, District 12 used to be feared. But that was years ago. Now, the district has fallen out of the Capitol's favor and into disrepair. Its remaining seven victors are troubled by old age, illness or addiction. But for Katniss Everdeen, this has never mattered. Her neighborhood in the Seam has only known poverty, and all she cared about was looking after her family. But that changes when she has to volunteer as tribute. To complicate things further, Katniss is competing against Peeta Mellark. His parents include the local baker and a Glory Games fanatic, but his own motives remain unclear. Katniss doesn't know what to make of herself, the Capitol and a system that is falling apart. But Panem is watching. So, the show must go on. And, whether she likes it or not, Katniss must take the stage and become a myth and a legend, reborn.
