Fics like Press Ganged

Admiral James T Kirk and Captain Spock enter a frontier colony's look alike contest for themselves. There are consequences. --- “Do my senses deceive me, or was that the real Kirk?” asked Admiral Glukonfer. “He sure is!” Commodore Kithari laughed. “But don’t worry. He lost his own lookalike contest too. They picked a blonde Bajoran with a bandaged nose and a vintage green wrap shirt worn extra tight.” “I still do not understand why this is noteworthy.” Glukonfer stared pointedly at the chronometer. “Much less a trigger for a Starfleet Emergency Committee.” “Two reasons,” Nogura growled. “First, the Dawn Clipper publicly verified that the two of them left the local spacedock with the tickets in hand. The press is treating that as confirmation they were actually at the event.” “Which they were,” said Glukonfer. “And second,” Nogura grabbed his cold mug of coffee laced whiskey back from Kithari, “The contest winners gave a fucking press conference afterwards.”
