Fics like The Memory Keeper

Some things cannot be cut cleanly from a person, no matter how carefully the knife is held. Lan Wangji has spent seventeen years, inside a perfectly constructed life, aching for something he could never quite name. He is about to find out exactly what was taken from him and exactly what it costs to get it back. (There is also a bug-shaped spirit with strong opinions, juniors convinced they're hunting a ghost king, one very good dog, and eventually magic sex. Yes, really. It's that kind of story.) A canon-divergent, post-Sunshot AU about memory, grief, found family, and love that outlives forgetting.
