Fics like if you give a buck an orange

Eddie grabs Christopher’s backpack and gets the orange out of his lunchbox. “You want some of this?” He holds it out in Buck’s direction. “It’s been just as long since breakfast for you.” It has been a while since they last ate, and the adrenaline of the day is starting to wear off into the kind of hunger where Buck thinks he could single-handedly eat a large pizza without breaking a sweat, but… Every time someone offers him an orange, he thinks about this silly superstition from a book he picked up back in his wandering days: “If a boy gives a girl an orange, her love for him will multiply.” Or, Buck spends years doing anything he can to avoid taking oranges from Eddie (and falls in love anyway).
