Fics like Stone-Faced

Once the pain has receded mostly to the edges of his head, Four finally cracks opens his eyes to take in his surroundings. Only to be staring at his own face. And not the sort of face he would expect to see, as a quick mental roll call confirms that yeah, he's definitely not split right now. Instead this face is a bland gray, rough to the touch and hair frozen as though it were being blown in a breeze despite the still air around them. But most striking of all are the eyes, those blank— lifeless eyes, wide open with fear and completely unblinking. Link's small hands reach for his friend's shoulders, flinching away for a second at the cold, hard texture of stone under his touch. Then he tries again, grabbing on to shake his best friend gently, as though waking her from a nap. "Zel?" In which Four has some lingering trauma around his childhood friend being turned into a statue in front of him.
