Fics like A Dragon's Legacy

The dragon of the Lonely Mountain had only ever demanded one thing: that once a year, on the last day of autumn, before the sun fully set, a man or woman of any race, aside from one of the Eldar, who was past their majority, be brought to the mountain's ledge that overlooked the ruins of Dale and left. Every year, a sacrifice was presented as ordered, and every year, they came stumbling back to Esgaroth upon the Long Lake within a few days, weary and terrified. Bilbo becomes a dragon's sacrifice and must figure out why the beast demands a new person every year just to let them go. Is he ready for the answer he receives?
