Fics like from here on out, it's us (it always was, it always was)

they’ve managed to keep this thing between them a secret for months: meeting up after work, eddie staying to help clean up after movie nights or after his hellfire sessions are done for the day, steve stopping by the munsons’ new government issued trailer to “drop off” whatever dungeons and dorks thing the kids have left and staying to make small talk until wayne has left for his overnight. it’s still new, fragile, something they both want to last and don’t want scrutiny on right now. whatever they started building during that terrible spring break, whatever they almost lost when eddie played hero, it’s flourishing, soft and warm, between them. or soft boys in love taking care of each other
