Elaerra Potter-Black has been having odd dreams. They pull her in completely, to the point where she doesn't even know it was a dream until she's opening her eyes to the light of dawn. They show her things, things she can hardly piece together; a family, torn by deceit and rage, waging against each other in a never-ending battle for iron that holds great purpose. Scales of green clash against scales of black, each chipping away at the others edges until so very little remained of either side, until, eventually all that remained were mere pebbles. It wasn't strong enough anymore, it would never be made whole again. Then the frost came. It fed on all things living, leaving nothing left in its wake. It ripped through everything, twisting and turning until nothing remained of what once was. The beasts in the sky fell, the last seed of black dissipated into nothing. It was a warning of moments yet to come, and Elaerra had bear witness to it all in her sleep.
