Fics like the children yearn for a father figure

“I’m not coming.” “You’re right.” “What?” “What the hell?” “Stay away, Gwen.” “We are supposed to be the good guys.” Gwen Stacy was 9 years old when she was bitten by the radioactive spider instead of her best friend and step-brother, Peter Parker. Gwen Stacy was 11 years old when Peter Parker died because of her. Gwen Stacy was 12 years old when her father was shot and killed in the line of duty, and she became a foster kid, moving from 3 schools in 2 years. Gwen Stacy was 14 when the spider-society ‘adopted’ her. Until she tries to help Miles Morales to save his dad from having her dad’s fate, and Miguel O’hara sends her away. For good, he hopes. Or in which… Gwen is no longer the only vigilante or in her universe, she has a personal vendetta against Miguel O’Hara, and the so called ‘bats’ are farrr too interested in her to be a coincidence.
