Fics like The Bounty on a Broken Halo

A wanted poster blows clear across three counties only to get snagged on a fencepost outside a farm run by the prettiest widow this side of the dirt. Max Verstappen, a bounty hunter who tracks outlaws by scent, just needs a bed for the night. Charles Leclerc, an omega with a dead husband buried behind the barn, doesn’t want company. One offers water, the other offers a truth sharp enough to draw blood. The fencepost keeps the paper pinned, and the bounty hunter keeps his boots on the porch, wondering why a man who smells like honeysuckle would have calluses on his trigger finger.
