Fics like Each Time I Think I'm Close To Knowing

Josuke clutches at Okuyasu like he thinks he might disappear if his grip gets too loose. Eventually, he pulls back just enough to look Okuyasu in the eyes. Uninhibited by his medication his hands reach for either side of his friend’s face as he presses their foreheads together, his pompadour having long fallen apart. “You’re alive,” Josuke whispers in disbelief, his shoulders shaking with the aftershock of his tears. Okuyasu breathes in deeply before agreeing, “Yeah.” It’s so… intimate. It’s the first time since Okuyasu inserted himself in her and her son’s life that she’s thought about him as anything other than Josuke’s best friend. But looking at this… She always knew Josuke was different. He was special. It never stopped her from loving him any less. Or, Tomoko witnesses Josuke and Okuyasu at their most vulnerable: post final battle and, in Josuke's case, on pain meds.
