Fics like see the daylight as it flows

The bow misses the strings and the melody stops. Damon puts his fiddle aside and approaches the rock. He lays his trembling hand on the seal's chest and instantly senses two things. The first is breath, slow and weak, but very clearly present. The second is a strong, unmistakable aura of a magical being. Not a seal, then. A selkie. Or a story of a lonely water spirit who finds a wounded selkie on the shore and both of their lives change forever.
