Fics like i'll leave the light on

Jungwon stands in the doorframe with rain dripping from the ends of his hair and his bag hanging heavy from one hand, staring into the dark foyer. Somewhere above him, the machinery begins to turn. A great white beam passes through the windows. The room appears. The room disappears. The lighthouse is supposed to be empty. Then someone says, “You took your time.” There is a man standing halfway up the spiral staircase. When the light passes over him again, Jungwon thinks that he has stumbled into the presence of something he was never meant to see. Something private and ancient, a god caught for only a moment in the turning of the world. Jungwon stares. “Who are you?” “Jay," the man says simply. “Why are you in my lighthouse?” Jay blinks. “I live here.” Jungwon takes a job as a solitary lighthouse keeper to escape from his past. Jay is already there.
