Fics like the bedrock in my bed

Nick and Selena are the first to fall victim to the retirement curse. Six months after Chewy hangs up on his skates, he shows up to the weekly Old Fucks Monks Meetup with a hangdog expression. “She filed yesterday,” he tells them. Shane is appropriately sympathetic in the group, jumping up to grab another round whenever Chewy’s bottle gets low, making vague but good-sounding noises whenever Chewy says something depressing, but Ilya knows that gleam in his eyes. "Out with it," Ilya says, once they're safely ensconced in the dark interior of Shane's car. “I can’t believe they’re giving in,” Shane says, a touch of glee in his voice. - Or: near the end of Shane and Ilya's careers, an epidemic of divorces sweeps the Centaurs.
