Fics like holy cages, open sea.

“Why do you always paint the sea?” “Because no one can put a fence around it, and just by looking at it, I feel free. Don't you?” Taesan is the quiet black sheep of a prestigious, deeply religious family, hiding his music in locked notebooks to keep their conditional love. He was willing to play his part forever—until he met Kim Leehan, a carefree artist who carries the vastness of the ocean in his art. When Leehan uncovers Taesan's hidden songs, he hears the words Taesan could never bring himself to speak. Looking up from the notes, Leehan voices the terrifying truth: “You write like you are trying to apologize for existing.” As his walls crumble, Taesan must face the ultimate question: who would he become if he finally stopped being afraid of who he truly was?
