Fics like got your heart in a headlock

Nightwing watches his brother start swinging his feet, thinking about something that he’s not privy to. It seems that they’re both having a hard night but he can’t be out for much longer considering that his notifications keep pinging every few seconds with Bruce wondering why he’s been in the same spot for so long especially since patrol is over and yet he doesn’t want to leave his brother alone. “Come back with me tonight,” he coaxes, holding out his arm and hoping that Jay takes it. “Alfred’s made cinnamon rolls,” is the next thing he says to sweeten the deal and he watches the tension from Jason’s shoulders disappear in real time before his guard is back up again. Or how the Batfamily welcomes Jason with open arms after his death despite him trying to push them away.
