Fics like A Vow Etched in Silver

To an immortal elf, a ten-year journey is merely a passing afternoon spent hunting for silly grimoires. But to Himmel the Hero, those ten years walking alongside Frieren were an entire lifetime—and the beginning of an eternal, quiet devotion. Knowing that a mortal heart could only offer a fleeting blink of time to a creature of eternity, Himmel hid his deepest feelings behind grand poses and playful vanity, choosing to love her in silence rather than burdening her with the grief of his eventual death. He lined the continent with statues so she would never walk alone, tucked blue flowers behind her ear, and slipped a silver Mirror Lotus ring onto her finger—a vow of eternal love she was far too oblivious to comprehend.
