Fics like Where the light doesn't reach

Levi Ackerman had never intended to become a Scout. Dragged from the Underground alongside Furlan and Isabel and offered a choice that was hardly a choice at all, his place within the Scout Regiment is nothing more than a means to an end. He has a mission to complete, secrets to uncover, and one man standing at the centre of it all: Erwin Smith. You, however, have already built a life among the Scouts. At twenty-one, you're one of the Regiment's youngest squad leaders—quick-witted, capable, and far too cheerful for Levi's liking. Tasked with overseeing the three new recruits, you quickly recognise something in them that the others don't. Something familiar. Because the Underground has a habit of following those who escape it. As Levi's plans draw him further into Erwin's world, the line between reluctant recruit and soldier begins to blur. And somewhere between expeditions, bloodshed, sarcastic remarks and a growing trust neither of you intended, Levi begins to realise there may be more connecting the two of you than either could have imagined. Some histories are better left buried. But eventually, everything buried beneath the surface finds its way into the light.
