Fics like two weeks, and your mom invites me to her house in montauk (is it casual now?)

“hey.” he turned. annabeth was walking toward the car from the direction of the big house, sunglasses pushed up on top of her head, a water bottle balanced in one hand. she’d changed out of training armor hours ago, wearing an oversized sweatshirt with the sleeves shoved to her elbows despite the heat. his oversized sweatshirt that he gave her two weeks ago. the breeze caught a few loose pieces of her braid, lifting them away from her face. she smiled when she saw him. it was weirdly easy, considering. … for half a second, it felt normal. the kind of conversation they’d had every day for years. then she glanced toward the backseat. “ready?” percy frowned. “…for what?” she looked at him. her smile slipped as her brow furrowed. “montauk.” he blinked. “…what?” she frowned back. “your mom invited me.” the parking lot suddenly felt much more suffocating. — or, two weeks after percy and annabeth hook up, still having not figured anything out, annabeth is invited to montauk for a few days.
