Fics like A broken Promise

Percy shouldn't be in Greece, he promised his mother that. Like he promised to not step foot into the Mediterranean Sea, no matter what. Because his father disappeared in it. But the ocean calls him like a siren song and a current drags him and Rachel so far out that they could have drowned. His mother was right, he shouldn't have doubted her. But it won't be long until he discovers that she didn't tell him everything, that there is a much bigger threat lurking beneath the surface than the water itself. A threat that could have been avoided if he had just heeded her warnings. His father never drowned at sea, but the truth is far more unkind than the lies mothers tell their children to keep them safe.
