Late at night, when she’s back at her apartment she gets an enigmatic text form Mary Crawford. It reads: “Fanny, whatever Edmund tells you, remember Henry only has eyes for you”. Edmund avoids her the whole next day after he gets back to the office from the trip so whatever he’s supposedly about to tell her can’t be that important. He vanishes before 5 p.m. to go to the hospital and only tells Fanny that he’ll call her later. So when early in the morning her phone starts to ring she only assumes it’s him. But instead of Edmund’s number, her screen flashes up showing the number of Mr. Thomas Bertram. “Fanny,” his voice greets her from the other side of the line when she picks up. “I’m terribly sorry to inconvenience you at such an hour but I need to ask you for a favor. I know it’s a lot to ask and I’ll explain everything when you get here, but for now, can you please get ready to spend the day at the hospital?” or Tom Bertram is in an accident and because of the Bertram Family drama Fanny needs to take care of him.
