Fics like The Empire of Eternal Night - Obsidia

In this world, light is forbidden. For centuries darkness has ruled Obsidia, consuming everything in its path. Those who had possessed light magic were hunted down and destroyed on sight; their very existence was considered dangerous and unacceptable. Overtime light user’s brilliance had been replaced by fear, violence, and absolute control. Anyone born with the ability knows better than to let their power shine; because there is no tolerance. Charlie Magne never fell to the fear, instead she refused to be afraid. Despite her older sister Erika’s warnings and desperate attempts to keep her ability hidden, Charlie continues to reach for the light. Then there is Alastor Hartfelt, the ruthless general of the Magic Guard. He may not care for Obsidia’s laws, but he does enforce them without mercy. Until he discovers Charlie with the same abilities that he would normally silence with his blade or the darkness of his magic, but he doesn’t. For the first time he is questioning if the light truly deserves to die.
