Fics like Child of the Sea

The letter started by letting him know about the unfortunate death of his mother-in-law of pneumonia. Cliopher was reasonably sure he'd never accidentally got married, and that he didn't have a mother-in-law. He had to read the address a number of times to be sure it actually had his name on it. Then it said that due to these sad circumstances his son (at this point he checked the address again) had been put into temporary care. They had tried to reach out to his wife, but been informed she was currently at sea. Could he please contact them as soon as possible with proof of identity, and they would share the location of his son so he could make further arrangements for his care. Cliopher rather wished he *hadn't* read the letter before the Local Infrastructure Review. It must be some kind of mistake, but it would no doubt require him to go into the city to clear it up. The more time he took in doing so, the longer this poor child would be in care, and away from his actual father. Whoever, or wherever, he was. (What if Kip had a kid, but in the boring usual way one has a kid?)
