Fics like Diary of a Preacher's Son

Randy Bradley, son of the town preacher and known to the town as the one who faced tragedy and is just trying to keep what's left of his family together, is hiding what would be an entire life under the surface. Doubts about his God filling his head every time he steps onto the pulpit his father left behind ten years ago after he died in a fire. Then, Randy meets Benson, and the world seems to blossom. Only, just as everything else in his life does, Benson leaves and Randy is left to reckon with the fact that the town he called home was never home. Or, Randy is Ethel and Benson is Willoughby and this follows the events of Ethel's life laid out in Preacher's Daughter and Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You grafted onto Randy. The first chapter (based on "Family Tree (Intro)") and the chapter based on "Tempest" will be the only ones from Benson's point of view purely just because I needed to tell his backstory so later events will make sense and because I'm trying to keep as much canon information from both sources. Thank you so much to 'A,' my amazing beta <3
