Fics like The Salt Tower

Never make a deal with the tide-born. They are as fickle as sea foam, as mute and ruthless as the dark abyss. Those who bind their fate to a voice from the deep believe they are buying an oracle... only to end up as wreckage. For the sea does not promise, it only consumes; and when they whisper the future into your ear, remember that the price is always paid in drowned blood. Obito Uchiha, architect of an empire of fire and ash, believes he holds absolute control over the realm's fate. But in the cold, isolated Tower of Salt, chained by the tyrant's will, dwells Iruka: a hydromancer whose ancestral lineage was nearly erased from history. When Commander Kakashi Hatake is sent to guard the prisoner, the balance of power begins to fracture. Between riddles of saltpeter, visions of betrayal, and a loyalty crumbling under the weight of a shared past, they are swept into a tide of events threatening to break the empire's chains. Under the full moon, the tides do not ask permission. They drag away what men believe is safest within their grasp, and this pact, sooner or later, will drown those who believe themselves masters of the world.
