Fics like the act of loving

Peter ruffles her hair like Tony Stark must've done to him a thousand times before. "Not your fault, don't worry about it." Jean melts under the touch, akin to a snapping dog that's felt a loving hand for the first time. But no dog ever sheds its teeth. The door to the boathouse kicks open. A blur of a boot and something, someone clad in all black with a notable skull emblem that pronounces death has come, and punishment has come with it. Jean tenses as Frank Castle steps inside, swinging an assault rifle from his hip to his front. Twitchy hands that want to aim and point directly at her, no doubt. He looks angry. Unbelievably, undeniably pissed. That fury intensifying and softening as he sees Peter next who shoots him a too gleeful smile for the mood in the room. "Sweetheart," he growls, dark and thick. "You sure got a lotta nerve for this." — OR, Peter keeps bringing strays to Frank’s boathouse.
