Fics like The Tail I Didn’t Want

Toothless gets a new tail fin that lets him fly alone. He loves the freedom at first, finds Hiccup’s lost helmet, and even checks out the other dragons’ nesting island. But flying by himself just feels… empty. He goes home, reunites with Hiccup, then deliberately breaks the new fin and chooses the old saddle instead—because he’d rather fly with Hiccup than without him.
