Fics like I said something like your name

“Sorry Hollander. I cant go. We can’t be anything I already told you.” Shane receives the text a week before Ilya is supposed to arrive to his cottage, then nothing. Absolute silence. Three days later Ilya gets married and breaks Shane’s heart. They are over; they are gone. All of it. Life keeps going and weeks blends into weeks. Eight years later, their paths collides once again. Shane is a different man; he is colder, rougher. Ilya is a different man; he is softer, warmer. —- A week before Ilya arrives at Shane’s cottage he ends their relationship with a text; then he gets married to a girl in Boston and disappears from the public eye. Shane nurses a broken heart, an horrible silence, the coldest summer of his life and the weight of a secret that almost breaks him. Eight years later they see each other face to face but it is not the same. Because they had changed, so much. So it’s possible for them to be something again?
