Fics like The Shadow we became

The war ended. The hatred remained. This is an AU, in which Valentine’s Uprising led to a war between the Shadowhunters and the Downworld, and in which the Downworld defeated not only Valentine, but also the Nephilim. A new world order was born. Alicante is closed off from the world. Most Institutes were destroyed. And the Shadowhunters that survived, are now at the bottom of the pecking order. Humiliated, harassed, with no rights, but still fighting. Twenty years after the end of the war, the New York Institute still fights. And when Downworlders are vanishing and being killed, and a new war looms, Alec, Jace and Isabelle need the help of the Downworld to survive. Only, the Downworld doesn't want to help…
