Fics like Neon and Static

Randy is a part-time worker with a simple philosophy: free is free and finders keepers. So when he spots an abandoned old TV during his drive home, he doesn't think twice about what it meant and brought it home. After wrestling it into his apartment, he's met with nothing but shrieking static and looping gibberish. When YouTube turns out to be a dead end of endless sponsor plugs, Randy takes matters into his own hands with a screwdriver and discovers something jammed in the built-in VCR slot. A forgotten workout tape someone left behind, its label promising a surefire way to get into shape. Curious, he coaxes the tape to play. The static clears into an eerie aerobics program from decades past, hosted by a strange and energetic instructor whose eyes seem to follow him through the screen. It's weird, but it's just a video. At least, that's what Randy thinks, until the tape refuses to eject and his attempt to force it out triggers something far stranger than a glitchy picture. Only one thing is certain, his plans for a lazy Saturday are about to get a serious workout.
