Fics like Little Danni

Little Danni is a grubby, foul-mouthed menace with bad manners, sticky fingers and absolutely no respect for the great theological architecture of Western civilisation. Unfortunately for Hell, Purgatory and Heaven, he has Virgil, a chain-wearing goth songstress with the patience of a damaged saint, to guide him through it. Across three increasingly ridiculous nursery epics, Danni insults the damned, annoys philosophers, questions angels, steals food, discovers metaphysics and repeatedly asks the sort of questions medieval theologians sensibly avoided. From burning tombs and bureaucratic demons to penitential mountains, celestial examinations and the alarming absence of toilets in Paradise, the Divine Comedy becomes a bawdy children’s rhyme for adults who remember enough Dante to know exactly what is being ruined. It is theology with muddy knees, scholasticism with fart jokes, and one of literature’s greatest journeys retold as though a badly supervised eight-year-old had somehow been admitted to eternity.
